Sing me a song...

I love discovering new music! And I think the library is a great help in that way. At least here in Norway, where borrowing CDs is free as long as you're a member (but to get a library card is free too).

So, does any of you have suggestions of music I can try out? Music you think I'd like?

I would suggest Danny Schmidt if I haven't already.

Problem is, you already listen to most of what I do. :oP

Alas, they didn't have anything of Danny Schmidt at the library. :(

I think he does have some sample songs for free download at his homepage. Can't think of anything they'd have at the library, though, that you don't know about already.

I can mostly do random suggestions. You might not like them at all :>

*Throwing Muses -- I like the album Limbo best, of the ones I've heard, alternative/indie
*Ladytron -- all albums really. "Electroclash" or something called like that
*Janis Joplin -- try the "In Concert" cd. Blues, her voice can be disturbing at first
*Massive Attack -- Mezzanine / Protection. Electronic, often with guest vocals, "90s sound"
*22-pistepirkko -- from Finland (sing in English), alternative
*Scissor Sisters -- pop, really.

And one from the Internet:
*Xenoton -- great analogue electronic stuff

* Throwing Muses I know and like. :)
* I've put Ladytron on my "to borrow later" list at the library's website.
* Janis Joplin I have a tape of, actually, so I know her. ;)
* Massive Attack's Mezzanine is already a part of my CD collection. ;)
* 22-pistepirkko they didn't have at the library.
* Scissor Sisters I can't stand. I think they're just horrid, sorry. :(

Are you into metal at all? If so, I have a couple of suggestions for you. ;) Other than that, it's:
- Kate Bush (Hounds of Love and The Kick Inside, primarily)
- Jeff Buckley's Grace <3
- Sigur Rós - anything but their first album Von, which is very indie-noisy. Apart from that, it's all beautiful.

I actually have Grace, bought it about ten years ago or so. ;)

And I have Kate Bush. You can't be a Tori fan and have not listened to Kate Bush. ;)

I picked up Sigur Rós at the library, need to listen more to that. Thanks for the advice! :)
